Experience: Chris grew up in Niagara where he graduated summa cum laude from Brock University with a B.A. (Hons.) in Philosophy. He then earned his LL.B from Osgoode Hall Law School. Since his call to the bar in 2001, he has practiced exclusively in the areas of civil litigation and personal injury, representing injured plaintiffs, as well as defending numerous corporations, insurance companies, and individuals, at private firms and as in-house counsel. Chris has expertise in motor vehicle liability (including US accidents), accident benefits, contracts, municipal liability, LTD, occupiers' liability (including slips and falls), property damage / subrogation (including fires, floods and oil spills), products liability, professional negligence (including claims against real estate agents and brokers), medical malpractice, employment and insurance disputes. In the early 2000's Chris was co-counsel for the Municipality of Brockton, one of the main defendants in the Walkerton class action case. He has extensive trial and appellate experience. As a civil litigator, he has amassed 28 reported decisions over the course of his legal career. Chris recently started his own mediation practice where he mediates mainly civil litigation disputes. Chris is married with two energetic sons, and one naughty dog. He is vegetarian, and an avid runner and reader. |
