Terms & Conditions/Disclaimer
1. Flex Legal Network Inc. ("Flex Legal") is not a law firm and does not perform legal services.
2. Flex Legal operates as a platform to match freelance lawyers/law clerk members of our network (the "Freelancer" or "Freelancers") with law firms/lawyers/in-house legal departments in need of freelance lawyer/clerk services (the "Hiring Lawyer").
3. When a Hiring Lawyer engages the services of a Freelancer the contractual relationship is solely between the Freelancer and the Hiring Lawyer and not with Flex Legal. The Hiring Lawyer agrees that it is their responsibility to review, understand, and agree to the terms of the contract between themselves and the Freelancer.
4. The Freelancer will provide his or her services to the Hiring Lawyer as an independent contractor and not as an employee. The Freelancer's relationship is with the Hiring Lawyer solely and not with any third party, including any party or person that the Hiring Lawyer represents (i.e. his or her “End-Clients”).
5. An agreement between a Freelancer and a Hiring Lawyer to work together does not create a solicitor-client relationship between the Freelancer and the Hiring Lawyer's End-Clients, or between the Freelancer and Hiring Lawyer. At all times, the Hiring Lawyer will maintain the solicitor-client relationship with his or her End-Client, act in a supervisory role and have sole responsibility for the work product of the Freelancer, exercise his/her independent professional judgment, and make all final decisions regarding his/her cases and the End-Client. Further, the Hiring Lawyer has sole responsibility in determining the fee charged to his or her End-Client for the services provided by the Freelancer. (See our Guide)
6. As the Freelancers' work is confidential, and to avoid conflicts of interest, no work is provided to, or reviewed by, any individual on Flex Legal's management team. Flex Legal's network of Freelancers practice independently and not in an association or other relationship for the joint practice of law.
